Tim and Maria’s vision of creating an eco-responsible retreat came to fruition in 2012 with the completion of their plantation hideaway. Off the beaten track, and purposely off the grid, Home Base is conveniently situated on the cross-island road to Paradise Beach where all of the wonders of the islands are within easy striking distance without being in the way.
Rising above the capital city of Apia, Home Base resides on five plantation acres and serves as the gathering point for guest’s intent on experiencing the plentiful wonders of Samoa in a remote and spiritual setting.
At Home Base one has only to wander a few steps beyond their veranda to join Maria in harvesting fare for their daily meals, or to meditate in the tranquility of the yoga studio located in the authentic Samoan Fale.
After a day spent exploring the island, or adventuring off the beaten path, guests can arrange for a Polynesian massage in the healing room, where essential oils and gentle breezes rid the body of toxins and the stress of urban living.
“There’s a reason we’re referred to as the Happy People” Maria says, adding “there’s not much in Samoa that isn’t pristine and simple, like Mother Nature intended it to be.”
There’s little wonder that with all of the travel destinations available to Jeff Probst, of Survivor fame, Samoa was his choice of destinations to propose to his wife and to celebrate his parents 50th anniversary renewal vows.
“It’s a magical place” Tim chips in, “and Jeff was not the first adventurer to propose to the love of his life in paradise.”
So join Jeff, Tim and all the like-minded adventurers who took the high road to paradise in sensational Samoa.
